   Jack Pontes is a graduate of York University’s Studio Arts program. He then taught Fine Arts for over 15 years in Toronto at Merit Academy, Royal Crown Academic and various private tutoring services. Jack has also written many musical theatre works including, ‘Job: The Sire of Sorrows’, ‘Daniel the Dreamer’, ‘Micah and the Mountain’ and ‘Noah and the Ark’, which he staged at Merit Academy in 2007. He has also written and composed many social justice songs. One of these songs, ‘Hush Little Baby’, was written for the Peshawar Refugee Camp in Pakistan and has received over 33,000 hits on You Tube. 

   In the realm of literature Jack has written many poems and children’s stories. His most well known poem, ‘The Bull Fight was featured on Yahoo Glue as an example of Lyric Poetry. His most popular children’s story is, ‘The Dragon Hunter,’ which received a stellar review from Makeda Silvera; writer in residence at the North York Public Library.
